Timberline Studio · San Marcos, Texas
A specialty finishing studio built at the intersection of design, systems, and people.
Our story
Timberline Studio was built from a simple belief: the finishing process could be done better — more intentionally, more consistently, and with greater respect for both the material and the people behind it.
What started as a shared vision between husband and wife has grown into a specialized architectural finishing studio rooted in craftsmanship, precision, and care.
From the beginning, our roles naturally complemented each other. One of us leads the operational side — building systems, refining processes, and ensuring every board meets the highest standard before it leaves our facility. The other leads design and client collaboration — working closely with builders, architects, and manufacturers to translate vision into finish, color, and texture.
That balance is the foundation of Timberline.
But what truly defines us isn't just how we work — it's why we work the way we do.
We've seen firsthand how fragmented and inconsistent finishing can be in this industry. We created Timberline to offer a better system: one that brings control, reliability, and design intention into a process that is too often treated as an afterthought.
Timberline Studio exists at the intersection of design, systems, and people. And we're just getting started.
Today, we operate as an architectural finishing studio — where operations and design work hand-in-hand. Armando leads execution and production, and I lead design and client collaboration. But what really sets us apart is how we treat people — our team and our clients are at the center of everything we do. That care translates directly into the quality, consistency, and reliability we deliver on every project.
— Isabel · Founder & Design LeadTimberline Studio is built and run by family — not as a tagline, but as a daily reality. Every role at the studio is held by someone who has a personal stake in the quality of the work and the reputation of the name.
Armando brings 15+ years of coatings expertise to the studio floor — building the systems, standards, and production environment that make Timberline's quality possible. Isabel leads design, brand, and client relationships — translating architectural vision into finish specifications and ensuring every client experience reflects the studio's standard of care. Together they are the foundation everything else is built on.
Silvia leads color development at Timberline Studio — responsible for our in-house color lab, custom color matching, and the precision that ensures every finish we produce lands exactly where it should. Her work is what allows us to tell clients: if you can describe it, we can finish it.
Gustavo oversees day-to-day studio operations — coordinating production schedules, managing material flow, and ensuring every order moves through our facility with precision and on time. His role is what makes our 2–3 week lead time a promise we can keep.

Our team is not just part of the process — they are the process. We prioritize a work environment rooted in respect, growth, and pride in craftsmanship. When people are valued, the quality of the work speaks for itself. That same mindset extends to every client and partner we serve.
Our faith shapes how we run this business — the honesty, the care, the commitment to doing things right even when no one is watching. We don't cut corners. We don't overpromise. We do what we say we're going to do, and we do it to the standard we set for ourselves — not the minimum the market accepts.
We chose this city and we're committed to it. San Marcos is not just where we operate — it's where we want to invest, contribute, and grow alongside the community that surrounds us. Building a business here matters to us, and we take that seriously.
We are not interested in building a business that chases volume at the expense of quality. We are building something that lasts — finishes that perform at the highest level for as long as possible, relationships that hold up over time, and a reputation that we're proud to stand behind. Our goal on every project is to extend the life of the finish and reduce the frequency of maintenance. That's what quality actually means in this industry.
We care about the environment we work in and the environments our finishes end up in. Factory application means zero VOC release at the job site. Our premium substrates — Accoya and Thermory — are produced without toxic chemicals. Sustainability isn't a marketing claim for us. It's a decision we make every day.
I don't lead with this because I want it to define us — but it is part of who we are and I'm proud of it. Building a specialty manufacturing studio in this industry as a woman-owned business is not the path of least resistance. It is the path we chose, and we're glad we did.
One of the reasons we built a factory finishing studio — rather than a field application operation — is environmental. When finishing happens in our controlled San Marcos studio, there is no VOC release at the job site, no overspray drifting into neighborhoods, and no chemical exposure for workers or homeowners during construction.
Factory-applied coating systems deliver a significantly higher and more consistent coating build than field application — which means better adhesion, longer performance life, and less frequent maintenance over the life of the building. That translates to less material consumed and less disruption to the finished space over time.
We also choose our substrates with care. Accoya® is FSC-certified and produced without toxic biocides. Thermory® USA is heat-treated with no added chemicals. When you specify a Timberline Studio finish on a premium substrate, you're choosing a product that was made responsibly from the beginning.
Every project is approached with care, collaboration, and a commitment to delivering materials that are not just finished — but ready to perform, install, and elevate the final build. We'd love to hear about yours.
